After an initial pushback for a recall due to touchscreen failure from Tesla, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has deemed the system failure as necessary recall. While no crashes have been related to the issue the NHTSA is holding Tesla responsible to replace the screens as a recall on certain Model S and Model X vehicles.
